It continues to rise during the day, usually peaking in the middle of the afternoon. Then in the late afternoon and evening, your\u00a0blood pressure\u00a0begins dropping again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7383 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Untitled-design-28-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"192\" height=\"192\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Untitled-design-28-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Untitled-design-28-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Untitled-design-28-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Untitled-design-28-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Untitled-design-28-1536x1536.png 1536w, https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Untitled-design-28-2048x2048.png 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 192px) 100vw, 192px\" \/>This is a healthy dipping pattern and denotes a healthy blood pressure circadian rhythm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">So, what happens if this is not the case?\u00a0 What if you don\u2019t dip?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">There are many studies suggesting that people who do not show an appropriate nocturnal dip in blood pressure, called non-dippers, are at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular complications and disease.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">We can greatly impact our blood pressure, both negatively and positively, by our sleeping pattern.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">Research has found that those who sleep less than 4 hours a night are at a higher risk of hypertension, which is high blood pressure, than those who sleep 7 hours each night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">And here&#8217;s a kicker. This will help you to identify irregularities or changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">And this is important both for cancer prevention and for those going through treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">Hypertension is associated with a higher risk for not only developing cancer but dying from it as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">In one large study that included 289,454 men and 288,345 women, the results showed that higher than normal blood pressure was statistically significantly associated with a 10-20% higher risk of developing cancer in men, and a higher risk of dying from the disease in both men and women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">And for those in active care, there is a known association between chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment and the development or worsening of hypertension.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">There is a known association between chemotherapy and radiotherapy for treatment of cancer patients and development or worsening of hypertension\u2026Morbidity and mortality increased in patients with cancer and hypertension without proper antihypertensive treatment.
