{"id":7167,"date":"2020-04-16T12:00:50","date_gmt":"2020-04-16T12:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cathybiase.com\/?p=7167"},"modified":"2020-04-02T17:25:24","modified_gmt":"2020-04-02T17:25:24","slug":"apps-to-help-lessen-anxiety-and-stress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/index.php\/2020\/04\/16\/apps-to-help-lessen-anxiety-and-stress\/","title":{"rendered":"Apps to Help Lessen Anxiety and Stress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have witnessed countless acts of kindness throughout this difficult time including wonderful trainers and gyms offering ways for us to keep physically active and motivated while staying home.<\/p>\n<p>But along with taking care of our physical needs we must also nourish our mental self.<\/p>\n<p>There are many strategies that we can employ.\u00a0 One arena to play in are the many apps that have been developed for just this purpose.<\/p>\n<p>There really are so many terrific apps available to help us strengthen and maintain our mental health but I want to highlight 3 that I use personally.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">\ud835\udde0\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf1 \ud835\udde6\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddf3\ud835\ude01<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7172\" src=\"http:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Screen-Shot-2020-04-02-at-11.31.31-AM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"110\" height=\"110\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Developed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anxietycanada.com\/articles\/new-mindshift-cbt-app-gives-canadians-free-anxiety-relief\/\">Anxiety Canada<\/a>, Mind Shift is an app that is designed to help you cope with mild to moderate anxiety aiming to change how you think about anxiety.<\/p>\n<p>It is based on proven scientific strategies helping you to engage in healthy thinking. You check in each day to track your anxiety and work with tools in the app.<\/p>\n<p>This is a free app.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">\ud835\uddd6\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddfa<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7170\" src=\"http:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Untitled-design-13-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"110\" height=\"83\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Untitled-design-13-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Untitled-design-13.png 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 110px) 100vw, 110px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 2017 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calm.com\/\">Calm<\/a> was named iPhone App of the Year. Calm is a wonderful app for everyone including those experiencing stress and anxiety.\u00a0 The App offers daily Calm sessions and guides you through meditations, sleep stories and breathing programs.<\/p>\n<p>There is a free version and a paid version.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">\ud835\uddda\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddee\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude01\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddf1\ud835\uddf2 \ud835\udddb\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude00\ud835\ude00 \ud835\udddd\ud835\uddfc\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf9<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7171\" src=\"http:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Untitled-design-12-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"124\" height=\"93\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Untitled-design-12-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Untitled-design-12.png 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 124px) 100vw, 124px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Daily recording of gratitude has been shown to increase happiness and improve mood.<\/p>\n<p>As the <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/gratitude-happiness-journal\/id1372575227\">Gratitude Happiness Journal<\/a> app description states:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>the app was built out of a personal need to cope with anxiety &amp; depression<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This app offers unlimited journal entries and affirmations.<\/p>\n<p>There is a Pro version but I have been using the free one and I love it!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">RECIPE<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #386c9a;\">Ashwagandha Milk Tea<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(I have published this recipe before and have had many positive feedbacks from it)<\/p>\n<div>Ashwagandha (Withania Somnifera) is an Ayurvedic adaptogenic herb.\u00a0 An adaptogen helps to bring balance and stabiliziation. Ashwagandha is best known for its stress-lowering effects.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #9dbfad;\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup milk<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup water<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Ashwagandha Powder<\/li>\n<li>1 date<\/li>\n<li>10 Goji Berries<\/li>\n<li>4-5 cardamom buds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #9dbfad;\"><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Add milk, water, Ashwagandha powder, date and Goji Berries to a small saucepan and bring to a boil<\/li>\n<li>Once reduced to about half strain in to a teacup, add cardamon buds and enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have witnessed countless acts of kindness throughout this difficult time including wonderful trainers and gyms offering ways for us to keep physically active and motivated while staying home.
