{"id":1392,"date":"2017-01-01T14:02:02","date_gmt":"2017-01-01T19:02:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cathybiase.com\/?p=1392"},"modified":"2017-01-01T14:02:02","modified_gmt":"2017-01-01T19:02:02","slug":"newyearsresolutions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/index.php\/2017\/01\/01\/newyearsresolutions\/","title":{"rendered":"Tips for Achieving Your New Year&#8217;s Resolutions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ringing in the New Year symbolically turns the page to a blank canvas offering perhaps the wish for \u00a0continued happiness or the hopes for better times to come. \u00a0And although we cannot know what the future holds, we can perhaps influence our path in the right direction through the many choices that we make.<\/p>\n<p>New Year&#8217;s resolutions often revolve around weight loss, exercise and time well spent. \u00a0All very valid and well intentioned targets but without a clear plan these goals can be hard to achieve and can fall by the wayside quickly as life gets in the way.<\/p>\n<p>So this year, instead of looking down the road of a marathon, let&#8217;s go step by step with simple strategies to help us achieve our goals.<\/p>\n<p><em>My offerings to you&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Be mindful<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Stop looking ahead and enjoy where you are right now. \u00a0If we keep looking forward we miss now and now is where we have the opportunity for our greatest happiness.<\/p>\n<p>Be mindful of what your eat and what you drink. \u00a0Don&#8217;t just feed your body, nourish it. \u00a0Food matters.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Move<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Exercise means different things to us all. \u00a0Don&#8217;t start off at the level you want to be at, meet yourself where you are. \u00a0If that means going for a walk each day, grab your Fitbit and go!<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t sit for more than an hour at a time. \u00a0Get up and get that blood circulating.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Get Good Quality Sleep<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Sleep is where we detox and repair. \u00a0Make sure you sleep in a dark room with no electronics close by. \u00a0Have a bedtime routine. \u00a0Don&#8217;t eat right before bed.<\/p>\n<p><em>And finally&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Cut Yourself Some Slack<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Be realistic! \u00a0Achieving good health isn&#8217;t crossing a finish line. \u00a0It is a life long commitment to treating yourself with respect and graciousness. \u00a0Make it your goal to do one good thing a day for you and build upon that. \u00a0This could be anything from drinking lemon water in the morning, to setting aside time each day to listen your favourite music or reading a good book.<\/p>\n<p>My wish for you is a year and a lifetime of abundant happiness, dreams that become reality and the opportunity to share them with those whom you hold dear.<\/p>\n<p>Happy New Year!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ringing in the New Year symbolically turns the page to a blank canvas offering perhaps the wish for \u00a0continued happiness or the hopes for better times to come. \u00a0And although &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/cathybiase.com\/index.php\/2017\/01\/01\/newyearsresolutions\/\" class=\"more-link\">Continue reading <span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Tips for Achieving Your New Year&#8217;s Resolutions<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":1393,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","default_image_id":0,"font":"","enabled":false},"version":2}},"categories":[29,34],"tags":[185,186,187],"class_list":["post-1392","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-lifestyle","category-reflection","tag-goals","tag-newyear","tag-resolutions"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.6 -
