The type of food we are craving can be a clue as to why we are craving it. Certain foods may be high in certain minerals our body is lacking causing the craving. Other cravings may be explained by an imbalance of bacteria in the gut. Oftentimes a craving is simply a signal from the brain. When we deprive ourselves of certain foods, we inadvertently create stronger cravings.
