There are so many different opinions on the best diet to curb cancer I found it confusing to find the right way for me. I had tried a number of diets and was beginning to feel discouraged to the point where I’d lost interest in making food. Cathy was exactly what I needed. Sharing a wealth of information on the role of diet and healing plus dozens of easy recipes she not only refined but simplified my eating habits. Maybe the best part is that Cathy understands the cancer mindset and that eating can become a stress. This was the case for me, but after her 4 week course I’m certain I’m now on the right path, and that confidence has taken away much of the anxiety. I’m greatly comforted that Cathy is invested in my road to recovery. I only wish I’d connected with her sooner!
There is no way of preparing for a cancer diagnosis and I didn’t have many resources to guide me in the ways that I needed. I didn’t know what I needed. As someone who has had the luxury of being healthy for most of my life, it was a devastating shock to the system. The loss of control was debilitating and I spent weeks in terrified anticipation of the treatment and the long term effects it would have on my body. My first instinct was to seek naturopathic and nutritional counselling and this path led to Cathy. What I found in Cathy was a real-life angel, and the coach I needed to get through. Cathy was an empathetic ear that gave me the tools to manage side effects and stress through diet and nutrition; she was the “friend-who’s-been-there” who understood where I was at physically, emotionally & spiritually. Learning more about what my body would need to heal and recover helped me to regain some of the control I had lost. Working with Cathy brought me back to solid ground, where there was a plan I could follow one day at a time, and soon I began to visualize myself being ok again. It was a game-changer for my mental health. I feel incredibly fortunate to have met Cathy during an extremely difficult time in my life, and she continues to support me. The work she does has been invaluable to me and I wish all cancer patients could have someone like her in their corner.
Working with Cathy was far one of the best investments I could’ve done during my cancer journey. I came across her listening to a podcast in which she was a guest speaker. After listening to her I knew I needed to work with a cancer coach for additional support. She replied right away and I immediately felt at ease. She is extremely knowledgeable and her 4-week program was super thorough and life changing. She was so professional and always made it a point to reduce my stress and anxiety. I learned so much working with her from gratitude to ensuring I am eating adequately to support my body during treatment. She helped me figure out an eating window that worked best for me all while improving my sleep. I always looked forward to our calls and although an hour may seem long, she presents all the information in a way that is easy to digest and it is not overwhelming. It is never too late to start the program as she also gives you information to help you after you are done with chemo!
Having Cathy as my nutritionist and post breast cancer coach has provided me with a wonderful tool in my journey to remain healthy. Cathy is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to put information into context that I can use and understand.
